How we do this.

Infrastructure as Code as default. Nothing is provisioned by clicking in a console. Every environment is reproducible from source control.
Runbook automation for routine incidents. Known incidents with known responses are automated; human escalation is preserved for the novel.
GitOps where it fits. Declarative infrastructure with pull-request-gated changes gives both speed and auditability.
Integrated with security. Automation is a force multiplier in both directions — secrets management, change audit, and permission scoping are part of every automation project.
